Love is the Capacity to Bridge Your Life to Someone Else’s Life

Love is the capacity to bridge your life to someone else’s life.

It appears the split in our society and on the world stage is higher than ever before, or at least that I have seen in my lifetime. We are split politically, ideologically, and religiously. We have dropped back into tribal thought where we believe one group is right and another’s is wrong. We are collectively destroying ourselves and our planet and the only way thorough is to lay down the idea of scarcity and separation.

When we believe there is not enough to go around, we hoard resources and power in fear  that ours will be taken by somebody else. This is the level of consciousness where we go to war with one another and think it is okay to take rights away from other’s based on our own beliefs and values. When we believe that we are not brothers and sisters to another because of our differing geography, ethnicities, politics  or religions, we feel justified to take up arms against the other. And when we justify this based on a god we believe is on our side, we are in a very dangerous place and can be assured we have created God in our image.

When we realize we are all part of the One, we have a chance to see the invisible connection  between us all and see how our quality of life and survival as a species depends on coming together.  What we do to one, we do to all, A rising tide raises all ships.

May this holiday season be a time to reflect on whatever way you personally hold hatred or division or judgment for another or yourself and move toward curiosity and compassion. In this way we each participate in the healing this world needs. Access your power and build some bridges.
